Mica Schist
Credit Line: Mineralogical and Geological Museum at Harvard University
Object number: BILLINGS-MW157
DescriptionSample has a sheen from small mica grains. May have had interbeds of pyrite growth as many layers of the rock were decayed into a powder and smelled of sulfuric acid. Those layers have been discarded and competant layers remain. Slight crenulation is visible on the top portion where the label is painted.
